Dear Parents,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support and dedication to our symphony. As you might know, we were once a very illustrious symphony during pre-Covid times, but of course the global pandemic caused issues with rehearsals and member recruitment. Additionally, several legacy members have left to pursue higher education, leaving us without their guidance and experience. These factors made it very difficult to continue through the pandemic, but together with your commitment and contribution we were able to survive as a symphony, together. Finding new accommodations for symphony was not easy, and the costs presented to Director Yang were exorbitant, but he wordlessly fielded them without complaint, to give our young musicians a quality rehearsal every Saturday. Thanks to his generosity, and our combined donations, we are privileged to have a space to ourselves. As we near the end of school, we would like to reiterate the importance of these donations. None of this goes to Director Yang’s pockets but is instead all spent on the symphony. The rent is of course paid from this fund. Thus, we rely on your support to stay afloat amid turbulent times. Your donations matter. We are now asking for a charitable one-time donation, totaling to the average cost per musician a year: $500. With this amount, we can equip one musician with sheet music and stands, as well as their share of rent for one year. We ask for your support because we believe in your child, and we thank you for putting their Saturday night in our hands. This donation is completely optional, and we will never disclose who did/did not donate for any reason. If you believe in us like we believe in your child, then feel free to donate through a check made payable to AYS.

Once again, we thank you for your support, from donating time and love to monetary means. We hope that, by our combined efforts, we can get back to our glory days. Thank you.
